A look at the making of the classic Bill Murray comedy "Groundhog Day."

Groundhog Day is a musical with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and a book by Danny Rubin. It is based on the 1993 film of the same name, directed by Harold Ramis and written by Ramis and Rubin. It tells the story of Phil Connors, an arrogant Pittsburgh TV weatherman who, during an assignment covering the annual Groundhog Day event in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, finds himself in a time loop, repeating the same day again and again.

Shot over the course of six weeks on 16mm film by Greek cinematographer, Thimios Bakatakis (The Lobster and The Killing of a Sacred Deer), the new rag & bone Films short coincides with the launch of the rag & bone Fall 2018 collection. The film was shot in New York and Los Angeles and features Kate Mara, Boyd Holbrook, Pom Klementieff, Lakeith Stanfield, Reed Morano, Lake Bell, Jon Hamm and Emma Roberts. To capture the spirit of cinema verité, each character was shot by Bakatakis through a handheld approach and using available lighting.

It is a story about friendship and loneliness, emotions which Adrian already feels so poignantly as a child. The Danish first-time director’s expressive visual language dramatically merges water and air, reality and a hint of fantasy.
